CUSTOMER BACKGROUND:
Since 1976, Richard Crookes Construction (RCC) has been a family owned and
operated construction business. It has grown to include offices in NSW, QLD and
the ACT. As a construction company with enduring family values, our efforts
reflect this through the coordinated client efforts we build with each project
that consistently meet targeted deadlines and budget constraints and still
deliver the finished product to the client at an optimal quality level. Having
a collective of sectors to work within as well as approximately 75% of
returning business from government and private entities, RCC has developed a
stellar reputation second to none in the construction industry.
CHALLENGE:
With upwards of at least 50 construction projects in production simultaneously,
RCC found it essential to have various site offices to expedite business
procedures on a daily basis.
Management capabilities and handling information efficiently was a vital part
of the business process. Not unlike other companies, RCC also finds it
imperative to manage their project documents by means of printing and scanning.
They collaborated with AMPS to create a dynamic document plan that meets their
company’s needs.
SOLUTION:
Whether it is office printing or utilising a specialised wide format, or some
form of plan printing, AMPS formed a partnership with RCC to provide a unified
copy, print, and scanning resolution to accommodate a collective of business
locations within RCC’s construction entity.
The concept of a print fleet was first proposed to an equipment company as a
means of bringing them superior production and reliable than small-scale print
solutions at multiple offices. Having a larger scale print operation at each
site that offered more cutting-edge print technology that mirrored that of the
company’s headquarters allowed other sites to expand their productivity.
Merging a print fleet: The mission to find a print technology company that
could act as a partner to work towards vital business goals coupled within a
“pay-as-you-go” plan for the interim building locales. Additionally, they would
have to accommodate stringent 4 hours SLA’s among the fleet, regardless of
which site would be involved.
In dealing with more secluded sites where the requirement for access was less
frequent, preventative consumable replenishment was implemented using
supplemental stock of all consumables and spare printer parts.
To address challenging environmental conditions, print technology was sourced
from only the most outstanding print technology manufacturers in the industry.
From there, the most applicable product was chosen based on its consistency and
durability.
